Umbria

I’ve just returned from a 10 day holiday to Italy and without a doubt it must be the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited. Having received a 3 day wedding invite from one of Sarah’s uni mates to the ceremony in Umbria, we felt that if we were going all that way we might as well extend the 3 days by a further 7 days and do our summer holiday off the back of it!

During our 10 day visit to Italy we crammed a LOT in, visiting loads of places and really taking in the sights and sounds of what Umbria and Tuscany has to offer…

So what did we do? Well, we…

Proposal in Tuscany

There aren’t many places in the world I’ve been that have really made me stop in my tracks and just admire the beauty at every given opportunity however Umbria and Tuscany did just that. The only other place has been Santorini in Greece which was simply stunning with the views from the Caldera.

We were supposed to do a day trip to Rome too but as it was 35-38 degrees each day it was unfortunately way too hot for another day trip! Wandering the streets of Florence in 38 degrees of heat almost killed me so we’ll be saving Rome for a city break sometime in the future when the temperature is a bit more bearable!

Umbria and Tuscany were absolutely beautiful and I wouldn’t hesitate to head back there. The place is awash with fields of Sunflowers, Vineyards, stretching scenic views and historic hilltop towns & cities.

If you’re considering Umbria or Tuscany for a holiday I really can’t recommend it highly enough. The photos I took really don’t do it justice as every view was incredible.

This is one of the best holidays I’ve ever been on and for many reasons won’t be forgetting it quickly.
