Central Park Autumn

New York, the city that never sleeps. Still a firm favourite with world travellers this incredible city isn’t going out of fashion anytime soon, retaining its popularity crown for the foreseeable future. It certainly remains at the top of many people’s lists of travel destinations.

If you are planning to head to New York this autumn, here are 5 places that you cannot afford to miss.

1. The High Line

With its vast expanse of landscaped gardens and trees the High Line offers an incredible experience in the autumn. The trees change colour and with its elevated view over the city, if you’re into photography you can catch some incredible shadows being cast through the streets early morning and late afternoon.

2. Central Park

It goes without saying that Central Park is a must see destination when in New York City. During the autumn there’s even more reason to visit as the leaves in this vast area turn a beautiful shades of orange and brown.

Walks through the park in the autumn are particularly special and bring about a completely new experience.

3. Fifth Avenue

Fifth Avenue needs little explanation as to why this is an incredible place to walk in the fall. With tree lined pavements (sidewalks!) and more than a mile of it to discover, Fifth Avenue really is the gift that just keeps on giving.

A gentle stroll along Fifth Avenue will present you with beautiful, tree lined experience all year around however during the autumn when the air is a little crisper and the overhanging trees have changed colour it really adds something extra special to the experience. This is certainly not something to be missed.

4. Bow Bridge

Bow Bridge and the Boating Lake are 2 of the most visited spots in NYC and for a very good reason, they are beautiful to look at and offer an incredible backdrop for a romantic photo.

With the change of season Bow Bridge takes on a new appearance, surrounded by an array of colours that really creates an atmosphere. If you’ve experienced Bow Bridge at other times of the year make sure you head back here and experience another side of it, you won’t be disappointed.

5. West Village

The West Village is unlike anywhere else in the city, offering an experience that is a world away from the hustle and bustle of Manhatten. With its intimate feel and tree lined backstreets, the West Village takes on a completely different persona in the autumn.

Go and find a coffee shop, grab a book and sit and enjoy the atmosphere and beauty that is the West Village.
