Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger

Last weekend I was wandering around The Centre:MK (Milton Keynes shopping centre to all you non-MK’ers!) and wandered through Debenhams on the way back to the car. I’m not usually one to impulse buy however at the front of the store they had aftershaves and perfumes at some extremely low prices which were a little hard to resist!

Now I’ve always known of Tommy Hilfiger but as a guy it’s always been much more about their fashion offering than their fragrance. With this in mind I was curious as to one of their classic men’s fragrances, Tommy. I picked up the tester and gave it a quick spray onto my wrist and was pleasantly surprised as to its modern scent despite having been around for quite a few years.

Tommy Hilfiger describe the Tommy fragrance as:

“A masculine and modern fragrance bursting with crisp energetic citruses”

This would therefore fall in line with the different notes that make up the aftershave:

  • Top Notes: Mint , Lavender, Bergamot, Lemon
  • Heart Notes: Cranberry, Rose, Apple
  • Base Notes: Amber, Cactus, Cotton

I’m not an expert when it comes to fragrance so I’m not going to lie, I don’t really know what the different notes mean(!!) What I do know however is whether or not I like the smell and overall I think the aftershave smells great. It’s certainly an aftershave which could be worn as an everyday fragrance to work however I would be a little reluctant I think to wear it out for an evening or on special occasions as it doesn’t quite have that premium edge to it. On those occasions I would almost certainly be pulling out my Chanel Bleu which is one of the best scents I own.

Liking Tommy however I bought myself an Eau De Toilette 100ml Spray which was just £15, reduced down from £51. Being a Debenhams employee I get an extra discount on top of that so for just over £10 it was an absolute bargain!

A great everyday scent at a great price, certainly a 4/5 from me.
